On July 9th, 1948, Thomas Fowler and Julia Fowler (Nash), originally from Newfoundland, welcomed their son Richard Joseph Fowler in Boston, Massachusetts. On July 31st, 2026, he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his devoted family and loved ones. His departure leaves a prodfound void, but his legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gerald Fowler, with whom he shared many treasured memories. Their love and guidance shaped the compassionate and generous man he bacame.

Richard was a man of great character and unweavering kindness, qualitlies that defined his relationships and endeared him to many. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who cherished his family above all else. He leaves behind his sister Joan Supczak of Ware, MA. He also leaves behind his very best friend and wife, Joy Fowler (Jewers), with whom he shared nearly 50 beautful years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

He was a proud father to his three daughters, Annette Nishimoto (Craig) of Hawaii, Carolyn Fowler of Arizona, and Tanya Fowler, also of Arizona. Richard's heart swelled with pride for his six grandchildren, Christine Nishimoto (Bilal) of Hawaii, Matthew Nishimoto of Hawaii, Ethan Fulton of Arizona, Kharma-Lynn Acord of Arizona, Veronica DePue of Arizona, and Jessica DePue, also of Arizona. He was also blessed with t great-grandchildren, Beckham Acord of Arizona, and Adaline Jones, also of Arizona.

As a dedicated patriot, Richard served honorably in the United States Navy from 1967-1969, including haven been stationed on the USS Samuel N Moore DD747. This period of his life instilled in him a deep sense of duty and commitment. His experiences in the Navy were a source of pride and shaped his outlook on life.

Richard had a passion for gardening, finding solace, and joy in nurturing life from the soil. His gardens were a reflection of his nurturing spirit, filled with vibrant blooms and verdant growth. While living on the island of Kauai, nestled along the islands of Hawaii, he developed a love for the beach, where the sound of the waves and warmth of the sun brought him peace and happiness.

His Kindness was a beacon to all who knew him, a testament to the genuine and generous heart he possessed. Richard's life was a tapestry woven with acts of love, compassion, and unyielding kindness, leaving a rich legacy for his family and friends to carry on forward.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans in Richard's memory, continuing his legacy of kindness and compassion for others.

As we say goodbye to Richard, we hold close the memories of a life well-lived and a man well-loved. May his gentle spirit continue to guide and inspire us, just as he did in life.
