Robert John Kilpatrick III (Bob) passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 22, 2025 at 98 years of age. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his 3 children Kim Burrows, Ben Wienert, and Robert John Kilpatrick IV, and 3 grandchildren Leighton Wienert, Robbie John Kilpatrick V, and Kellen Wienert.
He was raised in Saint Louis, Missouri by his parents Robert John Kilpatrick II and Agnes Fendler Kilpatrick. At a young age he joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. After the war, he went onto his career with the St. Louis County Police Department as a charter member badge #91. During this time, he filled and led many roles in the newly established police department. Ultimately, he went on to teach Criminal Justice at the Saint Louis County Community College where he retired. After retirement Bob and Sandy moved to Prescott Arizona.
His ultimate passions in life were western horses and sailing. He owned many quarter horses form childhood until his mid 80’s, competed in cutting horses, and loved trail riding. He also raised his family over the weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks where he owned sailboats and he achieved his captain’s license to do commercial charters. Both his passions he shared and passed on to this children.
Bob, was always up for a party and always up for some fun. He lived a very full and adventurous life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held on October 25 at 10:30am at Sheppard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Prescott, Arizona.
