Obituary

Ronald Wesley Young, beloved husband and friend, passed away on May 2, 2026, in Prescott AZ, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on March 28, 1947, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ron lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and devotion to family.

From the beginning, Ron had a gift for loving people deeply. His mother, Dorothy, who recently celebrated her 98th birthday, often shares how excited Ron was as a young boy when he learned he would soon have siblings. When she was expecting his sister Vicki and later his brother Wayne, Ron – then 11 yrs and 13 yrs older – could hardly wait for their arrivals. With his father, Calvin, deployed a good part of the time, Ron stepped naturally into the role of protective and caring older brother.

As an Army Brat, Ron grew up with a spirit of adaptability and curiosity, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. He especially cherished the friendships he built during his years at Frankfurt American High School in Germany, where he graduated in 1965. Ron stayed in touch with many of the friends he had there throughout his life.

The same was true of his lifelong career in the telecom industry. He valued the people he worked with and many of those relationships endured well beyond the workplace. Some of these dear friends have already passed on and it brings comfort to imagine Ron reunited with them now – a joyful gathering in heaven, full of stories, laughter and the companionship they enjoyed on earth.

Later in life, Ron and Kristin became part of a group, they affectionally called The Gourmet Group. Together they shared countless evenings filled with good food, laughter and conversations that lasted long after the plates were cleared. Many of those friends remain in touch today.

Ron also discovered the joy of traveling with Kristin and close friends, who included them on their many adventures. Together they explored France, Spain, Italy, Australia and New Zealand – creating great memories.

To those who knew him, Ron was a source of comfort, humor, and unwavering support. When he married his wife, Kristin, he told her she would be forever Young – a testament to his wit and playfulness. Ron’s absence will leave a void that cannot be easily filled.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kristin, their sons, Jeffrey and Kevin and grandsons, Ryan, Donovan and Graydon. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Bullard , his sister, Vicki Dangers, her spouse, Jay, and their many children and grandchildren and Ron’s brother, Wayne & his wife Kathy and their three children and many grandchildren. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Calvin, and by those dear friends who surely welcomed him home.

A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on June 7th at 2:30PM at The Club @ Prescott Lakes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron’s honor to New Hope Uganda - www.newhopeuganda.org (a ministry for orphans in Uganda started by Ron’s sister, Vicki & her husband, Jay, 40 years ago).
