Rosemary (Ro) Martin Rosemary Ann Martin (Ferrone) was born in Queens, New York, on November 16, 1933. She was the daughter of Margaret (Bowen) Ferrone and Peter Ferrone. She liked to be called Ro. She was very proud to be a New Yorker and never lost her New York accent. After losing her parents as a young adult, she learned quickly just how important family truly is—a value that remained at the core of her life. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Rosemary was the devoted mother of nine children, though she endured the heartbreaking loss of a son just days after his birth. She raised seven daughters—Jamie, Christine, Rory, Kim, Sharron, Deb, and Gail—and one son, Al. In 1968 she moved to Long Island, where she lived for 21 years; in later years she moved to Virginia, and eventually to Arizona. But no matter where life took her, her heart always remained in New York. She found joy in watching her family grow, blessed with 28 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rosemary was raised Catholic and continued to practice her faith throughout her life. She loved to listen to the church bells ring. Rosemary enjoyed old movies, especially Casablanca. She was a loyal New York Giants fan for most of her life (until they started losing, at which point she switched allegiance to the Chiefs!). She loved to dance and was an avid reader. She was feisty, always spoke her mind, and always let everyone know where she stood on any issue. With her delightful sense of humor and her easy laughter, she brought joy to those around her. She was predeceased by her two brothers William Ferrone and Bernard Ferrone, and by her two sisters Margaret Ferrone and Kathleen Curran. Her passing leaves a deep void in our lives, but we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her son James and the rest of her loved ones who passed before her. Rest in peace, Mom. We love you always. A Catholic Mass is planned for November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales, 37730 St Francis Ct. Purcellville, VA 20132. Private burial to follow.
