Samuel Joseph Bourgeois Jr.

Samuel Joseph Bourgeois Jr. was born May 29, 1934, in Vacherie, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 91 November 22,2025 in Prescott, AZ. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

Sam moved to Bellflower, CA with his family at the age of 8 years old. There he graduated from Excelsior High School and Cerritos Jr. College. He went to work for Gerber Baby Food in 1956 as a salesman where in his 35-year career he attained the following positions, Territory Manager, Asst. District Manager, District Manager(St Louis, MO),Central Regional Manager(Dallas, TX), Vice President of Sales(Fremont, MI) and Western Regional Manager(Cupertino, CA). Retired March 31,1991.

He also was a proud Marine Corps Reservist for 12 years at Camp Pendleton, CA where he rose to the ranks of Staff Sgt. and a drill instructor.

Samuel had many hobbies he enjoyed with his family. Golfing, fishing, skiing and traveling trips were numerous throughout his life. He also restored a 1929 Model A Ford Coupe to its original authenticity he lovingly called Henry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce, his three children, Kandice, Andrew and Andrea Bourgeois McWilliams (David). His two grandchildren Juliet Bourgeois Berwyn (Karl) and Jet McWilliams, two great grandchildren, Juniper and Aurora Berwyn. He was lovingly known as Papa Bear to the grandkids.

He is predeceased by his parents Samuel Sr. and Inez Bourgeois, and his 6 brothers and sisters.

No services at this time at his request, a Memorial Service at a later date.
