Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt; Sandra Dawn Stazenski gained her angel wings on 1-24-26 and flew without hesitation into the arms of our loving savior Jesus Christ.
Sandy was born on 1-28-1948 in Marshal Minnesota and moved to Prescott as a young child in 1961. Sandy was a high school cheerleader and was a very skilled piano player. As a young adult, Sandy attended classes at ASU and at Yavapai College. She was employed at Qwest Corporation in the sales department and was then promoted as the Director of Corporate Communications where she worked for many years. She retired from Qwest and went to work at Yavapai County in the Facilities Department as a Regional Director. Sandy also volunteered at the family’s antique store; Lost in Sports/Antiques off the Square in her spare time and on weekends. She loved people and people loved her.
Sandy is preceded in death by one grandchild; Kaitlyn Stazenski, her father Ken Torkelson, her mother Phyllis Dale and her stepfather Don Dale.
Sandy is survived by her loving “Sweet Angel” husband George A. Stazenski and was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband for over 40 years. She always made sure that he was well taken care of and she loved him beyond measure.
Sandy is also survived by 5 siblings Pat Barrett (Lon Yeager), Jeann Guy (Peter), Joann Johnson, Tim Torkelson (Karen) and Tom Torkelson (Sally).
Sandy leaves behind 4 children Randy Stazenski (Jana), Steve Stazenski (Vicki), Brenda Heath (Clayton) and Scott Stazenski.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and was the perfect grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Misty (Beau), Danielle, Brittney (Adrian) Matthew (Jessica) Chelsea (Dylan) Wesley, Gunnar, Chloe (Dallas), Kellen (Tamryn), Ashley (Erik) and 17 great grandchildren.
She doted on each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, often taking them on trips, making ice cream sundaes, jeep riding, arrowhead hunting, tutoring school classes, taking them shopping, and would make the most wonderful turkey sandwiches and thumb print cookies. Christmases and holidays were always extra special for the family because of the loving and constant effort she would put into each goody she baked and each snack bag that she packed. She made every family gathering unforgettable; forming lasting memories that we will cherish forever.
Sandy was the type of woman who left a mark on every object she touched and a lasting impression on every person she came into contact with. She will be missed beyond measure and her memory will be cherished for all of our days left here on earth.
Services will be held on February 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church located at 1085 Scott Drive in Prescott, Arizona.
