Obituary

Sandy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, left us peacefully on May 29TH, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 3rd, 1948, in Clarion, Iowa, she grew up in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Sandy embraced life with a spirit that was as boundless as the open skies of her birthplace. She was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and devotion.

Sandy was predeceased by her cherished husband, John, with whom she shared nearly fifty years of a beautiful, steadfast marriage. They were wed on a memorable day, February 29, 1976, in the romantic city of Athens, Greece. Together, Sandy and John wove a tapestry of love that was enriched by their five children: Cindy, Jeff, Stacy, Karu, and Joe. Her nurturing spirit extended to her six grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

A devoted and ultimate dog lover, Sandy's heart was always open to her furry companions. Though she leaves behind her beloved Louie and Duke, she ensured their happiness and well-being would continue in her absence. Her heart often turned towards Hank, her favorite, who passed away a few years ago. Sandy found solace in the thought of reuniting with Hank, a day she looked forward to with a smile.

Sandy's love for the great outdoors was a hallmark of her vibrant life. She found joy and tranquility in hiking, camping, and canoeing, pursuits she often shared with many of her friends and most recently with her daughter Cindy. Together, Sandy and Cindy embarked on memorable camping trips in the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska, Arizona, and Nevada, creating cherished memories that will endure in Cindy's heart.

Her life will be celebrated in a service held on June 28, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Sandy’s House, located at 7659 E Sugarloaf St, Kingman, AZ. It will be a gathering of family and friends, a time to honor a life beautifully lived and a soul who touched so many.

Sandy's legacy will continue through her children and grandchildren, who will carry forward her love for life, animals, and the great outdoors. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
