William Philip Newton

William (Bill) Philip Newton, 82, from Prescott, AZ passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026.

Bill was a Navy veteran who served his country as a pilot from 1968 - 1978. After leaving the military he and his family moved to Prescott in 1979 when Bill started his career as a commercial pilot. He retired as a Captain from America West Airlines in 2003.

Bill had many hobbies including sailing, and playing the guitar and several other instruments. He was a member of a glider club, enjoyed tinkering on cars, electronics and HAM radios and could talk your ear off about stock option trading.

Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Maria, his children Michelle, Chris and Sofia, his grandchildren Ava, Sage, Owen and Kai and his sisters Carol, Mary and Elizabeth.
