Wilma Shirley Lorette

Shirley Lorette, 98, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 in Chino Valley, Arizona. Born on May 4, 1927 in South Lyndeboro, New Hampshire, Shirley lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, creativity, and a vivacious spirit.

In 1963, Shirley and her husband Fredrick E. Lorette made a bold move from New Hampshire to Mayer, Arizona. After selling their Village store back east, they purchased the Mayer Meadows trailer park – now known as Chimney Ranch – Where they built a new chapter of their lives. They eventually sold the trailer park in the 1970’s but remained in Mayer for many years. There, Fred pursued his passion for prospecting while Shirley embraced her hobbies and cherished time with her growing family.

Shirley was deeply rooted in her community. She became a member of the Mayer Community Church in 1963 and remained active until relocating in Chino Valley in 2020 to live with her daughter Randy. Her faith and fellowship were important parts of her life for over five decades.

A woman of many interests, Shirley had a particular fondness for collecting old bottles from historic mining sites across Arizona – a hobby that reflected both her appreciation for history and her adventurous nature. She also found great joy in crafting handmade greeting cards. This creative outlet became a shared passion amount friends and family members who delighted in both making and receiving her heartfelt creations.

Shirley was the heart of her family. For many years, she hosted holiday gatherings that brought generations together under one roof. Her warmth and hospitality created lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two daughter: Randy Fuller of Chino Valley, Arizona; and Holly Lorette of Prescott, AZ. Her legacy continues through her grandsons Chad Fuller; Jamie Fuller (Brandy); Ryan Stumpf (Teresa); and Eric Stumpf (Melissa). She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Cody and Amy Fuller; J.J. & Hallie Fuller; Ashlee Breland & Austin Stumpf; Dawson & Garett Stumpf; as well as great-great-grandchildren Timothy and Christopher Fuller; Sedona, Parker & Walker Fuller; and Kaylee & Charlie Breland.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fredrick E. Lorette; longtime friend Barstow Hoffman; grandson Todd Fuller; and dear friends Eleanor Bell and Ruther Hart.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who loved her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
